Hey Rajath, thanks a lot!

Yeah, decentralized marketplace (either for data or algos) would be a really cool new approach to advance AI. It is a delicate balance though.

If you are familiar with the concepts proposed in “0-to-1” by Thiel, you might know that only powerful “monopolistic” organizations have the power to foster innovation in a proper way (and actually this is what is happening with AI). On the other side, we know that centering this power in the hands of fews is not only dangerous but also counterproductive.

I don’t have a clear answer on how we could find the balance we need, but I know that startups might need data to try new things and individuals might want to get their data back once for all.

I also have other 2 big doubts, one regarding starting accumulating more data than we need (become data hoarders) and one on who will have the incentive to develop new safe AI if data, algos and talent are easily available (as a company or researcher, if I cannot do something unique why should I keep working on a specific topic?)
